Macky’s Pinboard

Hello Boys!
I welcome you to our first attempt to use the internet for our studies. You have been using this wonderful tool for almost everything else, except formal study! We teachers creep in and spoil some of your fun!

To say ‘Hello’ as often as possible, there is a new platform called ‘Macky’s Pinboard’ on faceBook. Let’s meet up there. Try and keep your parents away from this!!!

This is experimental. I know that most of you can handle this medium much better than many of your teachers. I, personally, use this medium like a baby! I will probably have to keep asking you senior boys for advice on how to use it, as the days go by. Similarly, I would like you to help junior students, at home or on-line, with difficulties they might have. Above all, share this system with your parents who want the best for you. We are all in this together.
I am sure you understand that your teacher cannot, at the moment, answer your questions individually. This will happen when the need is greater. We are still busy getting to grips with the basic use of this system. For the best use of this system, we will have to devise some rules and practices. After all, your teacher cannot pull you ears virtually for a silly question!! We will gradually communicate more effectively and share magic Martiniere moments.
I was thinking this morning that most of you have never been with your new class teachers and only know about them by what others have said. That always happens! I am sure they will be getting in touch with you and learning, even on line, who the naughty ones are! Pretend to be good. Remember in ‘Mart’, impression on a teacher matters.
Can you suggest to me some way in which I can be in touch with you in an informal setting. In case I need your opinion or want to run an idea by you, how will I get in touch? For example:
• I want to send you some pics of the horses in the stables and the swings in the playground. How do I do this?
• How can we plan our first on-line competition? Wouldn’t it be lovely to announce prizes for this on Prize Day? Don’t worry, we will disinfect all the Challenge Trophies for Prize Day!
• Any thoughts of how to convert standard face marks with La Martiniere branding? Do tell.
When I’m in a good mood, I’d really like to message you. The good moods don’t come too often! But all the same: You boys are such an integral part of our lives, we have to devise ways of doing our work, competing, improving, having fun and receiving our rewards. This we will definitely do!
Say hi to your Mum and Dad … and don’t give them too much trouble.
Macky
