A Christmas programme was organized in Spence Hall. This included a shadow performance of the nativity, a Choreography showing the spirit of Christmas. The hall was beautifully decorated with lights and Christmas decorations.
A Christmas party was organized by the teachers of the Junior School for their children. This included a nativity play and a lot of carol singing. After the stage performance, the children celebrated Christmas in their classrooms and exchanged gift.
Our boys participated in the Christmas carol Competition organized by City Montessori School. Our College stood 1st. Mr. Deen our music teacher was given the award for the best music teacher and the best team leader.

In an event called “Mathemagic” our boys stood first and in the Flower arrangement competition our boys stood Second.

The 6th International young Mathematica convention (Y.M.C). Mathematica was organized by CMS. Shubham Bhagat, Rohan Gupta and Saharsh Singh did exceptionally well in the Junior division. Yasharth Shekhar, Sauhard Srivastava and Mayank Hemwani did very well in the Senior Division.
The Lucknow Christian Chorus organized a cantata on 7th December. The programme included songs and a Christmas Tableau. The Tableau had children from our school. The cantata had a senior choir, a children’s choir and the Tableau. The event was followed by coffee and cake on the Principal’s Lawn.
The Annual Fete was held on 6th December 2014 at Fairydale. The fete commenced at 12:00 noon and ended around 5:00 pm. The Teachers had put up various stalls. There were food stalls and game stalls. The proceeds from the sale of the coupons shall go towards the restoration of Constantia. All the stalls were very colourfully decorated. There was a very good footfall at the fete.
After having emerged winners in sports and academics through the year, Hodson House emerged as ‘COCK HOUSE’. The Spence hall was tastefully decorated with red and white balloons. Mr. Neeraj Srivastava and his wife Mrs. Anupama Srivastava saw to the overall arrangements of the party. There was a social and a dinner on the Principals Lawn.

On 29th November 2014 the 132nd Annual Sports Day was held.
Dr S.K. Hasan, the record holder for Pole Vault in 1968 was the Chief Guest of the evening. Junior School Sports Day was held in the morning. Both presented excellent P.T Displays and Gymnastics. The marching band presented well coordinated music. The results for the Athletics are as follows :-

Time Institute for Management organized an event called Aqua Regia – A Science Quiz on 22nd November,2014 on Paryatan Bhawan, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.
A premiminary round was conducted in the College on 10th of November, 2014. 48 teams participated in this. Out of these , 8 teams qualified for the City Finals.
The City Finals had 105 teams from 24 colleges in the city. After a written quiz, top 6 teams qualified for the stage round. Our team stood first. They won a cash prize of Rs. 5000.

“Bull’s Eye” organized an Essay writing Competition.The Topic was “MY IDEA FOR A BETTER INDIA”.
20 best Essays were selected from the entries from all over Lucknow. Out of those, the essay written by Samvid Sharma was declared the BEST qualifying for the 1st prize and that of Harsh Karamchandani was the third best in the City.

The Preparatory Department celebrated Children’s Day with a treat and games on 13 November 2014 during school hours .
A short programme of Prayer and Entertainment was held in the Junior School campus on 14 November 2014.
Chapel service, Assembly followed by an Entertainment programme for students of Constantia Campus was held in the Constantia campus on 14th November,2014. The Staff members presented a variety of programmes for the students. The pupil authorities assumed the role of the teacher and conduct the Chapel Service and Assembly on that Day.

The first La Martiniere Model United Nations, LMUN 2014, was held on the 8th and 9th of November, 2014 under the guidance of Dr. Z. Siddiqui. The conference was attended by over 200 delegates, who participated in 5 committees simulated.

The members of the Logistics team and and The International Press were also recognized by the principal and praised at the assembly. The logistics team consisted of 32 members and the international Press consisted of 11 members with Shashwat Srivastava as Editor-in-chief.
The College hosted the 1st LMUN. 8 schools participated in the two day event. The event was conducted on the 8th & 9th of November 2014. The event was marked by the presence of prestigious speakers Mr. Wajahat Habibullah (Former Chief Information Commissioner Chairman, Minorities Commission, Mr. Debashish Chakravarti (former Ambassador of India to Ireland) and Mrs. Tulika Srivastava (Executive Director of South Asian Women’s Fund)
The Best Delegation was won by La Martiniere College for Boys, Kolkata. Hanumant Thakur of La Martiniere College, Lucknow was awarded the best Delegate in the NATO Russia Council and Abhinav Mathur was awarded the best delegate in the Security Council.
The event was ably managed by the boys of La Martiniere Lucknow led by Raghav Kohli who acted as the Secretary General in the 1st LMUN.
The boys of the Middle School organized ‘INNOGEN’ 14. The students under the guidance of Mr. D.K. Srivastava and Mr. P. Wesley made innovative science models. Parents were also invited. The efforts of the boys were greatly appreciated. Most of the models were made using simple electrical connections.
The Oath taking ceremony took place on the 29th of October 2014 on the Polo grounds of La Martiniere College. Adrin Aitkins, the Athletics Captain read the prayers. Our Principal led the boys to take an Oath to play honestly and with dedication. The four House Captains and the Athletics Captain led the boys in repeating the Oath.
This was followed by a tug-o-war between the houses. Lyons house emerged as winners. This was followed by a tug-o-war between the staff and the students in which the staff team emerged the winner.
Finally the winning teams relished the cakes presented by the College.
Constantia 2014 was held on the 21st October 2014. This was the third consecutive year that this mega event was organized by the LEO’s of our college under the guidance of Mrs. R. Tandon and Mrs. S. Siddiqui.
The event started from 10:00 am and culminated with the prize distribution at 7:30pm.
22 schools took part this year. A number of events took place including Giggles, Rang de Chak, Breaking News, Nibbles, Tako Niko, Corporate Simulation, What’s the Good Word, Java-Jibe, Web Genesis and Pirouette.
A number of renowned people came to judge the various events including Mrs. Pankaj Bafuoria (Masterchef) known throughout the country for her cooking skills.
Our College emerged Champions.
The Staff and pupils of La Martiniere College witnessed a grant night of lovely performances of Sufi songs and Qawalis.
Spic- Macay, an association to promote Indian culture among our society organized this event. The event started with a brief introduction to Boulene Lisa or ‘Gori Bibi’ by the Principal was by a brief introduction to Sufism by Mr. Syed Naqvi a renowed Journalist and an old- Martinian.
This was followed by a sufi- song sung by boys of our school led by Badrul Ameen Siddiqui. A Sufi dance was presented by the senior boys of our College led by Mansoor Malik.
There was a grand performance of the famous Qawals of the Warsi family of Rampur.
The night ended with ‘Fateha’ that was recited for the repose of the soul of Boulone Lisa led by Mohd Saqlain.
Mr Anis Siddiqui who hails from Madhubani District of Bihar conducted a Calligraphy workshop for Class 5 in the Spence HAll. The students enjoyed and learned the basics of this art with enthusiasm.

La Martiniere College is associated with SPIC- MACAY, an organization that promotes the awareness of Indian Culture has organized a series of programmes for our boys.
On 13th & 14th October 2014 Pt. Vishma Mohan Bhatt performed for the resident scholars and guests in Spence Hall. Pt. Vishma Mohan Bhatt is a Grammy Award winner. Pt. Vishma Mohan Bhatt also performed in Spence Hall on his famous ‘Mohan Veena’ for the pupils of classes 8 on 14th October. The students apppriciated his performance.
On the 15th October 2014, the students of classes 4 and 5 were mesmerized by the entertaining performance of Pt. Ronu Majumdar who played the flute for the students which the students loved listening too.
The TCS-IT WIZ quiz is considered to the one of the most popular quizzes in the IT field. Our College was represented by 36 students. Prakhar Rai and Aditya Jalan stood 1st in the prelims and 2nd in the finals. Our college was also awarded the overall trophy. We also won the prize for being the best cheering squad.
A chapel service was held on the Occasion of Gandhi Jayanti at the College Chapel. The service was attended by the resident scholars and resident staff. The service started with the lighting of the lamp .The lamp was lit by Mr P .Collins , Mrs P. Cowasji , Mr A. Michael, Mrs G. Lobo and Anurag Shah.
The Portrait of Gandhiji was garlanded by Anurag Shah and the two youngest resident scholars Dominic and Kenneth Evans
A series of prayers were recited for communal harmony. Mrs G.Lobo , Nitin Yadav , Shekhar Gaur, Maaz Ahmed and Vagesh Sisodia recited the Christian , Hindu , Buddhist , Islamic and Sikh prayers respectively.
Our Principal addressed the congregation and said that we should not iconise him because it shall become difficult to follow him in our daily lives.
This was followed by the choir singing “Make me a Channel of Your Peace” which was one of the favorite songs of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Chapel Service was followed by a brief fellowship in the Board Room.
Founder’s day is the most important event in our School Calendar. As every year the occasion calls for a lot of fanfare. This year too preparations for the event started nearly two months ago.
In the morning the Founder’s Day Chapel Service was conducted. The event started with the laying of wreaths at the Founder’s tomb by distinguished guests and members of the school fraternity. Pastor Sammy Matthai an alumnus of this college delivered the message. This was followed by refreshments in the Sykes hall.
Later that morning the Final of the Inter School Swimming competition was held. The event was attended by a number of old boys as well.
In the Senior Division Cornwallis House, Junior Division- Martin House and in the Colts division Cornwallis House stood first. The Senior, Junior and Colts’ champions were Ashwin Chowdhary, Neelansh Gupta and Adnan Ahmed respectively.
In the evening the Annual Entertainment programme comprised of drama, dance and music. The show stopper being the senior and middle dance choreographed by Mr Nigel Hopley.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by the Principal.
On the 10th of September, La Martiniere College had its annual Staff Vs. Pupil Authorities Football Match which was held at the Polo Ground. The match was full of exciting moments and ended in a draw between the two teams, the final score being 2-2.

On the occasion of Teachers’ Day i.e.5th September a Special Assembly was held. The portrait of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan was garlanded by Sauhard Srivastava and Vikramaditya Veer Singh. Areeb Ahmed and Vignesh Mehrotra addressed the assembly. Students gave flowers and gifts to their teachers. After assembly a special programme was held in Spence Hall. The programme included dances, songs and mimicry of teachers.
The Reserve Bank of India Quiz was held on the 3rd September 2014 at the Indira Pratisthan, Gomti Nagar, in which La Martiniere College was represented by 15 teams comprising of 2 participants each. There was a written preliminary round on the basis of which 6 teams had to qualify for the final stage round.
5 teams from our college qualified for the final round but each school could be represented by only one team on stage. They were :

All teams on stage comprised of boys of classes 11 and 12. The team from La Martiniere College was the only team comprising of boys from class 9 and 10. Nevertheless these boys gave their peers a tough competition and managed to win the 3rd prize.

Overall, La Martiniere College was placed was placed 4th in Lucknow District Inter School Chess Championship.
Varenya Vir Singh – Class IX B and Raunak Makhija Class X B represented La Martiniere College in the Regional Final of 65th FRANK ANTHONY DEBATE held at CMS Kanpur Road on the 19th August 2014, where they stood FIRST, Varenya Vir Singh was adjusted the second best speaker as well.
As always there was a lot of excitement about the Lucknow – Calcutta Meet .
The teams arrived in Lucknow on the 25th August. In the evening the teams from Kolkata went to our Founder’s tomb to pay homage . The Resident Scholars of the College put up a small entertainment programme after dinner.
On the 26th morning the teams headed to La Martiniere Girl’s College for the Debate. The Kolkata girls won the debate. In the evening the debate for the boys at Spence Hall was held. Spence Hall resounded to the loud cries of ‘Go Cal ‘ and ‘Go Lucknow’. The Kolkata boys won the debate. The best speaker was Arka Banerjee from Kolkata.
On the 27th the swimming competition was held. This year the swimming competition was at the boys College pool, which has been thoroughly renovated. The Lucknow boys did exceptionally well and lost to Kolkata with a close margin of 14 points.
On the 27th evening the girls basketball was held at the Girl’s college. The Lucknow girls won and the score was 12-16.
On the 28th morning, the girls swimming was held at the Girl’s college. The lucknow girls won. The score board showing 154-214 as the final score.
In the evening, the boys of Kolkata and Lucknow clashed on the Polo ground in an exciting football match. The match finished in a 1-1 draw. Mohd Kamran was the only one to score a goal.
Later, that evening a social was organized for the boys and girls. They had a wonderful time dancing to the latest tunes.
On the 29th morning, the teams from Kolkata was given an official send-off by the boys of lucknow. The Principal of Kolkata, Mr S. Chakravarthi gave a very inspirational speech to the boys.
On the 19th August 2014 , an eye check up camp was organized by Dr. Ravish Kumar Singh (TC EYE CENTRE) who is an old Martinian. The camp took place at College hospital in which students of class 9 and 10 took part and had an eye check up carried out through latest technology provided by the Dr. Ravish Kumar Singh. He also explained the do’s and don’t’s which should be followed for better eye vision.
