The pet show was held on Wednesday the 01st of March at the Gazebo Lawn & Doutre Garden . The annual pet show featured cute pets belonging to our students from Canines to Felines and also the Indian Breed, everything looked eye catching.
The program was organised by the LEO committee under the coordination of Mr Vincent Clifford and Mrs Sheba Siddiqui, who invited all the students to come and bring over their furry little friends. This event was sponsored by The Puppy Planet for our cuddly little friends and a total of eleven cats and twenty five dogs took part in the pet show.
The placid morning was disrupted by the hustle and bustle of cats and dogs from little kittens to puppies, from spotted cats to cuddly beagles. The students and the non participants did have a fun time playing and petting the pets in the midst of the show.
The Judges Dr Vikas Singh and Mr Cyrus Cowasji judged the dogs and cats after a ramp walk. One category each for the cats and dogs were awarded along with a special category: ‘INDIAN BREED DOG CATEGORY’. The awards were provided by the sponsor. The pets were judged according to various activities and after a very tough competition the judges were able to conclude with their decision. The best pet in the show in the ‘Dog Category’ was won by Franklin Tiger an English Cocker Spaniel belonging to Vishrut Narain and the best pet in the show in ‘Cats Category’ was won by Cappucino a Persian Cat belonging to Sulek Taneja.
While in the ‘Indian Breed Dog Category’ the charming dog named ‘Tiger’ won the award.
This event was made possible due to the efforts of the Leo committee along with Mr Vincent Clifford, Mrs Sheba Siddiqui and our Principal Mr Mcfarland. Everyone would surely be looking forward to next years’ event.
Sports help the little ones to develop a team spirit. It teaches them to be disciplined, patient and to work in coordination.
Internal Sports was organized for the children of the Nursery and Preparatory Sections, on the 28th of February at the Polo Ground.
Among our esteemed guests were our principal Mr. C.A McFarland, Mrs. Gene Lobo Head of Junior and Middle School, Mr. Malcom Bearder House Master of Cornwallis House, Mr. Alfred Gomes Games Secretary and Mr. Neeraj Srivastava House Master of Hodson House and Photography Incharge.
There were a variety of races run by the children with the help, training and guidance of their class teachers. The props used for the races were very attractive and colourful which were made by the children earlier for their Art and Craft Exhibition.
The Inter- House Boxing Matches for the year 2023 were held on the 22nd, 23rd and 25th of February respectively. All the matches were conducted in the boxing ring which was set up at the East Courtyard after school hours. A strong fight was put up by all participants but only the best of them managed to secure the awards. The Championship in the Colts Division was won by Cornwallis House, Hodson House was first in the Junior Division while Lyons House excelled in the Senior Division.
The Finals were held in the evening on the 25th of February under the lights, spectated by students dressed in their house attire and the occasion was graced by the presence of Mr. Nelson Maclure, Alumnus and former Boxing Secretary and his wife who attended as Chief Guests. The most promising boxers in their respective divisions were Mohd Shayaan, Elvis Tindale and Rudra Mishra and The Shepherd Trophy for the overall Champions in Boxing was won by Lyons House, awarded by Mr. Douglas Shepherd, an Ex-Martinian and a “State Level Boxer” himself.
Jean VantHul said, “Children are naturally creative. It is our job to give them the freedom, material & space to let their creativity blossom to its full potential.”
Art and Craft help young minds explore and express their emotions, even if they have not developed a full vocabulary to do so. Art is a crucial part of a curriculum as it creates a wholesome learning experience for children to bring out their talents and hone their skills.
Keeping all this in mind the Preparatory Department organized an Art and Craft Exhibition on the 25th of February, 2023 which was inaugurated by Mrs. Gene Lobo, the Head of the Junior and Middle School. The exhibition was attended by parents and was very well appreciated by our Principal Mr. C.A. McFarland and by all who attended the exhibition.
INNOGEN, is an annual event which is held to foster scientific curiosity among the pupils of the middle school. It gives them a platform to showcase their creativity by blending science and innovation. The teacher Incharge Mr. D.Nigam supervised the event along with the boy’s of the Robotics Club. The event was held at the Skating Rink on the 23rd of February. The first prize was won by Mohd. Afeef Shah and Siddhant Negi for their model called The Solar Drip Irrigation System. They captured the judge’s hearts by their commendable ability of showing innovation in their model which focused on enhancing crop yield, water efficiency and reducing the input cost of farmers. This was showcased to the whole school in the morning assembly. The second place was tied between Archish and Prashant Agarwal for their Water Cleaning Boat and Anant Singh, Siddharth Singh and Amartya Krishna Ranjan for their Zebra Crossing model that was aimed at preventing accidents. The third prize was received by Ribhav Joseph, Achintya Shukla and Ayaan Choudhary for their Sewage Treatment Plant. The event proved to be a complete success, when considered in terms of fostering scientific curiosity in the budding minds of the pupils of the junior school. The organising team and the teacher’s in-charge put great effort to see that the event was conducted without any flaw.
“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything”. Keeping that in mind, a guitar workshop was organized in association with the Associated Board of Royal Schools Of Music (ABRSM), on the 23rd of February, from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. in Stobart Hall. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Matt Bacon, who is a guitarist and composer and serves as the Head Guitar Faculty at the famous A.R. Rahman’s K.M. Music Conservatory, Chennai, since 2015. The workshop was attended by guitar enthusiasts of La Martiniere, aspiring to build their future out of their passion about guitar and music. The whole workshop was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Dinesh Khundrakpam.
Following the workshop, on the evening of the 24th of February at 7:30 p.m., Mr. Bacon performed some classical guitar compositions which included a Spanish Ballad, Romance by an anonymous composer, Layenda, Asturias by Isaac Albaniz, Capricho Arabe, Recuerdos de la Alhambra by Francisco Tarrega.
The students of La Martiniere College also performed in the musical event which included solo guitar performances by Austin Evans, Samuel Castillo, Rohan David, Isaac Tomlinson Verma, Aditya Badhani and Aryaman Gurha and a duo performance by Fazz Ali Khan and Aditya Badhani.
The pupils of La Martiniere College, Lucknow, assembled on the 26th of January at 9:00 a.m. at East Terrace to celebrate India’s 74th Republic Day. The celebrations began with the parade commencing at 9:30 a.m. The Commander, Raghuraj Mani Tripathi, marched with his contingents to the East Courtyard to welcome our esteemed Chief Guest, Brigadier Rehan Durrani, an old Martinian. Upon his arrival, he unfurled the flag and then proceeded to inspect the parade along with the Commander. Thereafter, he was led towards the podium where he delivered a speech regarding the importance of imbibing great humanistic values in our lives, giving an example about the same from a verse from our College song: ‘Faithful may we ever be, Followers of his constancy.’ Following this, the Principal addressed the students by expressing how proud he felt of his students for thinking independently. Upon the conclusion of the Principal’s speech, Raghuraj ordered the troops to march towards the canteen area, taking the salute of the Chief Guest, thus marking the end of the Republic Day Parade.
Nationals of the CISCE Rugby Sevens Tournament FINALS was played on our grounds, with North India Vs UP/UK, where UP/UK were totally represented with the boys from our college, UP/UK emerged the winners beating North India 22-0

On winning the tournament team UP/UK will represent the CISCE Board at the SGFI.The following boys from our college will represent UP/UK at the SGFI games.

In the First Razi Younus Memorial Cricket Tournament played from the 17th of November to the 23rd of November at Lucknow, La Martiniere College participated and won the tournament.
In the first match, La Martiniere College defeated Unity College by 8 Wickets and had to chase the target of 94 runs in the ninth over. Prateek Narayan Mishra was declared the Man of the Match by claiming 4 wickets.
In the second match, La Martiniere College batted first with a score of 228 runs and defeated Awadh College by 182 runs. Vyom Gupta was declared the Man of the Match with 102 runs.
In the Semi Finals, La Martiniere College defeated Lucknow Public College and won the match by 71 runs. Abhijay Singh was declared the Man of the Match by claiming 3 wickets.
In the Final Match, La Martiniere College defeated Eram College by 6 wickets in the 13th over. The Man of the Match was given to Rishi Aryan, who scored 36 runs and took 3 wickets.
High lights of the Tournament
Rishi Aryan was declared the Man of Tournament, and Vyom Gupta was declared the Best Batsman of the Tournament.
