One of the most significant objectives of La Martiniere College, Lucknow is to provide for balanced, overall development of the pupil. In accordance with this philosophy, activity at La Martiniere extends beyond the Classroom through our comprehensive Co Curricular Clubs and Activities Programme as a means to enhance social interaction, leadership, healthy recreation, self discipline and self confidence.
The programme is designed for pupils to develop physically, emotionally, culturally and socially by providing them with opportunities to broaden their horizons, gain knowledge and skills and generate interest in a variety of areas they may not have previously experienced It also provides a refreshing counter balance to the demands of the students’ academic studies and encourages students to share their energy and special talents with others.
Co Curricular activities are held on Tuesday and Friday mornings for which the attendance is compulsory. Annual report cards and School Leaving Certificates record the participation and contribution of each pupil to the chosen area of interest. Competitions are also organised to create a competitive environment and provide such Co- Curricular activities with an objective to work towards.
Basic skills in basketball, the rules of the game and motivation for competition are provided. Class wise league tournaments are organised after some degree of proficiency is achieved.
Skills in self defence (including Muay Thai, Taekwondo and Boxing), the rules and motivation for competition are provided Category wise competitions are organised after some degree of proficiency is achieved. Vacation camps shall be organised to enhance skills.

Facilities for in-house camping on the College estate shall be provided for an experience in independent functioning away from Home.

The basics of gymnastics for further development in the Senior School shall be established at this time. The Junior Gymnastic team forms a significant part of the display on Sports Day.
Horse-riding is a special activity conducted in the College paddock with trained personnel. This is a long term exercise, which also includes an element of risk. Basic riding skills shall be taught during these sessions.

The Skating Rink can accommodate a large number of sportsmen at one time. Basic skills in skating are taught to beginners. More experienced skaters are trained for competitive skating, for speed, in line and figure skating. Skating Hockey and other ‘Stunt Activities’ are taught in a controlled and safe environment.
Swimming is taught as a survival skill in the splash pool. The tiled pool is equipped with a filtration plant and coaches are always present for security.
Children opting for Swimming shall be taught techniques in Yoga at the time when Swimming is not in progress.
