Constantia 2015

CONSTANTIA -2015 was yet again a day full of excitement, enthusiasm and activities of all nature- technical, literary and cultural. The organizers, proudly called as LEO’s welcomed no less than 1035 students from 18 prestigious schools of the city.

The events began with the lighting of the inspirational lamp by our college principal, Mr C.A.McFarland. Events like POSTER MAKING not only showcased the artistic talent of the participants but also made them ponder on the seriousness of sparrow and vultures getting extinct. CARDBOARD SCULPTING drew attention towards the historical significance of the city we reside in. they crafted out the monuments with great creativity from cardboard material provided. Grave issues of  present world-“ Naari- Sammaan ki adhikari” were taken up in NUKKAD NATAK. An attempt to revive the pleasantness of kavya goshthi of yesteryears was made in events like SASWAR KAVYA PATH. It was heartwarming to hear young poets rendering their poems.

Technical minds at the same time were at work on the computers as they participated in events like JAVA JIBE, WEB GENESIS and CREATIVE SURPRISE.

The kitchen of La Martiniere witnessed a number of budding chefs preparing all by themselves meals starting form salad dressing to paneer curry in the event called NIBBLES.

Young journalists could be seen going around the campus preparing for the BREAKING NEWS of the day.

Business minds, on the other hand were busy raising the graph of their company stocks in an event called CORPORATE SIMULATION. The drama and script writing skils were showcased in the event called PANDORA’S BOX wherein, a mystery box with properties was provided to the participating teams that had to be woven into a script and a skit was to be dramatized on it. The skits were a great joy to watch as the interpretations of the props given varied from comedy to horror and even satirical.

The younger generation can be poetic too! The event TOKEN SCRIPT gave the youngsters space and reason to be poetic in a ballad format. Yet again, fusing the old with new emotions.  The culrtural events were towards the evening. It began with the BATTLE OF BANDS where the boys and girls at drums, synthesizer and guitar build the mood for the great music later in the evening. The dusk, dimmed halogen lights with coloured light effects and great music took not only the participants but also the audience to the floor to dance with the music that was a merge of Indian folk and Hip Hop showcasing the evolution of Bollywood since the seventees in PIROUETTE.

The day ended at a happy note with many new friendships and new bonds formed between the staff and students of various schools, with a promise to be back again recharged and refreshed with enthusiasm and zeal.
