74th Republic Day

The pupils of La Martiniere College, Lucknow, assembled on the 26th of January at 9:00 a.m. at East Terrace to celebrate India’s 74th Republic Day. The celebrations began with the parade commencing at 9:30 a.m. The Commander, Raghuraj Mani Tripathi, marched with his contingents to the East Courtyard to welcome our esteemed Chief Guest, Brigadier Rehan Durrani, an old Martinian. Upon his arrival, he unfurled the flag and then proceeded to inspect the parade along with the Commander. Thereafter, he was led towards the podium where he delivered a speech regarding the importance of imbibing great humanistic values in our lives, giving an example about the same from a verse from our College song: ‘Faithful may we ever be, Followers of his constancy.’ Following this, the Principal addressed the students by expressing how proud he felt of his students for thinking independently. Upon the conclusion of the Principal’s speech, Raghuraj ordered the troops to march towards the canteen area, taking the salute of the Chief Guest, thus marking the end of the Republic Day Parade.
