Annual Christmas Programme

The chill in the air. The melodious caroling. The dulcet sounds of jingling bells. The green lit-up Christmas trees. It’s that time of the year again! As we approached the month of December, the spirit of Christmas crept into each one of us. Preparations for the Christmas-themed variety entertainment programme had begun in the school from mid-November, as everyone from the little ones in the preparatory department to the senior boys of class nine and eleven were engaged in practices.

This year’s programme, usually held in the Spence Hall auditorium, was held on the East Terrace of Constantia for the very first time due to safety concerns, on Sunday, 5th of December, 2021. The Principal inaugurated the programme by welcoming parents and visitors, followed by a heartwarming show put up by the nursery and preparatory students dressed up as little Santa’s. Classes one to seven charmed the audience with their thrilling dance performances, after which the bilingual choir of class eight sung euphonious carols. The performances concluded with a contemporary dance medley by the students of classes nine and eleven portraying Santa and the Elves. Next in line was the narration of ‘The First Christmas’ by the senior boys, interspersed with hymns intonated by our college choir and a few faculty members, alongside which the students enacted the story of God becoming Man through the Nativity Play.

The evening in December came to an end with an eloquent speech by our Principal in which he expressed his gratitude towards all those working behind the scenes to make the programme a success. The entire duration of the programme was being live-streamed online for people to enjoy from the comfort of their homes as well.

Subsequently, the parents and children were led to the Mews field to relish the mouth-watering delicacies such as Chicken Rolls, Momos, Vegetable Noodles, Burgers, Sandwiches, Pani Puri and Coffee served in various stalls at the variety food fair.

A perfect way to end a beautiful evening with the joyful spirit of Christmas in each one’s heart.
