Children’s Day

The students of La Martiniere are the heart and soul of the college, and it is for them that Children’s Day is celebrated every year as a fun-filled day with entertaining programmes and activities.

The day began with an amusing ‘special assembly’ held at 11 a.m. at the East Terrace attended by a majority of middle and senior school students. The pupil authorities swapped roles with teachers. Our College Captain, dressed in the academic gown, conducted the assembly while our Principal, wearing the college uniform, stood among the students. The college prayer and pledge were followed by special recognition given to the teachers. The assembly gave over with the college song, after which delicious treat boxes, prepared by the college kitchen, were distributed to the students in their classes, who were giving their assessments.

Due to government restrictions, we were not able to have the usual programme in the Spence Hall, but we made the most out of the day despite the limitations. We look forward to next year’s Children’s Day as we hope for things to get back to normal, so that we can have a grand programme with all students and bring life back into the school!
